Heading home within the next 3 weeks. New job. Great farewell and realisation just how great some of the friendships/bonds made are.
As icing on the cake, today get given an iPod Nano as a farewell/congrats on the new job present. Thanks Laurent, Raph & Betrand - I will miss you guys but look forward to our next hurrah. I am only a phone call away.
Actually got a company branded iPod shuffle this week too! Laura it's yours! It's always the same, all or nothing!
Winner, hope the sandwich taste good.

:: one journey ends, another begins ::
So after 18 months in Switzerland, my time here has come to an end. The last two weeks has been absolute chaos, apologies for poor effort on the blog front. This post should catch me up though.
Had my farewell apero at work. We closed down the bar in the boardroom before watching a really average champions league game. The admin assumes that as I am Australian I drink a lot, go figure; she packed whatever wine was left from the apero into a carry out bag. Who am I to argue, if people want to give me free booze, I will take it.
Domestic disputes with the roommate this week regarding parties at our flat on the weekend was another welcome reminder it is time to leave and get my own place back home.
Saturday had everyone around for last drinks at my farewell party, a great night had by all; Mykey and I went for about 12 hours straight on the beers (see you in March mate for a repeat performance), Dj Spicy rocked when he finally arrived after a 5 hour haircut ordeal, the crazy woman behind was entertaining everyone with her foul mouth language, the work crew bought me a pocket knife with a chain to replace the last one I lost, the land-lord threatened to call the police, my Spanish roommate tried to palm off his bit-on-the-side much to her (loud and entertaining) disappointment, Jolene made me a chocolate cake, the Parisians didn't make it the whole night but impressed me all the same traveling five hours for the party, my French MC team brought me Calvados and a G-String, and my head was super-imposed onto David "thehoff" Hasselhoff's body. Hope this reflects the amazing blur the evening was.
Sunday I had my last beers with (another) Brett '99 under a bridge near the Rhein - sitting in a boat parked on the road drinking from a black garbage bag was a fitting end to our time together in Switzerland - goodbye for now mate, but see you soon in US or Ausl whichever comes first. Then onto Salome's place for beers on the balcony - it is amazing how much you need to drink to leave the country - I think it must be an unwritten visa requirement.
A sober day today, running errands until more beers this evening with the French Mafia.
Friday, I leave for China for a fantastic holiday, all planned by Tee - Monchichi you rock!!!
And after a long awaited reunion with Laura (17 days baby!!), I make my way to Sydney to start my new job - in the end I am staying with the company, commencing with Syngenta Australasia end of October - see you soon for a drink Caesar, thanks for the floorspace when I get to town.
To my European and fellow traveller friends, thanks for everything. I look forward to our paths crosssing again, in Ausl and in Europe. To the aussies, get out your stubbie holders, and have the beers cold in the fridge - I am heading over to your place.
Well that's me up to date,
Cheers.
